THREE CHAOTIC DAYS of hair greeted 500 attendees
from 20 different countries who showed up in Rome for
The Globe Show, a three day event hosted by Italian haircare
brand Artègo. Boasting a giant hair show, photographic
competition and expo event, the trip was one to remember
and for the first time Australia was represented.
Much-loved and fast-selling in Europe, particularly in
its native Italy, Artègo is now making strides in Australia,
and as such, Australia was included in the international
proceedings. The brand flew out Aussie Artègo haird resser
Deejay Pelli to participate – and compete – in the event.
“I was told very late in the stage that they were flying
me to Italy for The Globe Show,” Deejay revealed. “It was
brilliant, I had no idea what I was going there to do,
amazing work was produced and it was a 12 hour day
every day. The passion the haird ressers have for Artègo in
Italy - I can’t wait to spread that in Australia.”
Deejay took part in prepping colour models for
The Globe Show, joining forces with the brand’s group of
Number One Artists to help present their new collection
centred on the notion of ‘timeless beauty’.
WELCOME BLENDZ HAIR
HAIR EXTENSION COMPANY Blendz Hair has released a
range of products catering to their hair extension market
with the necessary shampoo, conditioner, spray and mask.
Built off the extension range, which was started by Rima
Checchin and utilises human hair extensions in a range of
tones and styles, the brand now offers wet products to both
supplement the extensions, or simply to use on natural hair.
“Having gained the experience necessary, not only
with grading Human Hair but also on how to care for
hair extensions, I was confident enough to put products
to the test,” Rima shared. “Hundreds of real clients at my
salon underwent trials since all of them wore extensions.
We tested different formulas
and ingredients repeatedly until
we decided on one that fit all
lifestyles, hair styles, colours
and textures, especially
on human hair extensions.
Blendz Hair Care is a miracle
hair care range. Enriched with
plant enzymes and hydrating
ingredients, I am confident
that those who use it will
be blown away and it
will put the headaches
associated with hair
extensions to rest.”
COTY ACQUIRES GHD FOR AU$673 MILLION
MASSIVE BEAUTY conglomerate Coty has announced a significant
new addition to their already impressive portfolio of over 77 beauty,
hair, fragrance and care brands, acquiring premier haircare and
electricals company ghd for AU$673 Million. Coty purchased the
big name brand from Lion Capital LLP, and it will now join famous
stablemates such as Calvin Klein, Wella Professionals, OPI, Marc Jacobs
and many more under the diverse Coty umbrella.
The acquisition seems a shrewd move on Coty’s behalf, considering
ghd generated AU$285 million in the 2016 fiscal year alone, and operates
extensively globally, with markets in the United Kingdom, Australia,
the United States, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and more. The iconic
brand comprises a range of high-grade electric tools, including their
feature straighteners headed by the newest ghd platinum, as well as
hairdryers, curling wands and other styling products.
ghd will now become part of the Coty Professional Beauty division,
where it will be managed as a standalone business led by ghd CEO
Anthony Davey and a management team, who will in turn report
to Sylvie Moreau, President of Coty Professional Beauty. Coty will
utilise the brand to cater to their professional haird ressing clients in
particular; delivering the highest level of salon tools.
GLIDE HAIR TOOLS LAUNCH
FLEXI BRUSH AMIDST STYLING
GLIDE HAIR TOOLS are having a
frenetic end to their year, launching
their hero Flexi Brush tool in October
and hosting a social media styling
competition that bred excitement about
their enticing products.
The competition tasked stylists
to create up styles using the Glide
Hair Tools brushes and pins. They
received over 140 entries under the
#glidehairtoolsupstyle hashtag. Bridal
hairdresser Paula Hibbard won the title
(and the Glide scissors that came with it), lauding both the brand and
their adaptable Flexi Brush in aiding her with her every day styling.
“What Glide Hair Tools has is the ability to respond to the
haidresser’s needs - and they’re forward-thinking, which is great,”
Paula shared. “The Flexi Brush is soft and detangles quite easily, I can
glide it through the hair for my bridal clients, who usually have dry
hair, without it getting caught and causing pain. The brush moves over
the head and massages at the same time, aiding teh removal of knots.
It works beautifully for clients who have really fine or thick hair.”
