Provost has opened up an additional half a
dozen salons in recent months – inspiring
consumers with a luxury experience and
accessibility synonymous with other
leading luxur y brands. This salon group to
watch was a pioneering partner of Vaniday
and their entry into the Australian
market. They also helped Vaniday access
some of the top Australian salons and gain
exposure through Sandy Chong and the
Australian Hairdressing Council.
“Vaniday really appears to be the
world’s leading marketplace to discover
and book beauty appointments online.
As many other hairdressing brands have
done, it was obvious for us to start a
partnership with them. We are working
with Vaniday to increase the visibility
and brand awareness of Franck Provost
through Vaniday’s marketing initiatives.
Our objective is to drive new guests to
Franck Provost salons. In addition, we
are really focusing on SEO and improving
the position of the Franck Provost brand
and salons in Google search results.
Being a leading partner of Vaniday allows
us to meet these ambitious SEO goals,”
Jean Francois Carre said.
“Indeed, we also benefit from the SEO
actions of Vaniday, which help our salons
pop up fi rst in search engines. Finally, the
Vaniday website and application are very
user-friendly and beautifully designed,
and give us quality space to present our
brand to our guests,” said Jean Francois.
In just 12 months results already show
that Vaniday is leading the charge in
Australia – with many salons seeing their
businesses growing by up to 30 per cent.
Wild Life salon in Milson’s Point is
another salon to jump on the Vaniday
train since launch – the company
choosing to hold the launch event to
media in their Milson’s Point salon.
“Group booking as a platform is done
across many industries so it’s only a
matter of time before it takes hold in the
hair industry. It is a great way to introduce
new clients and they do a lot of the online
groundwork so they get noticed first.
“They are currently working on getting
the appointment book fully integrated
to make the process a lot easier for
everyone,” said Gary Latham.
“The important thing to remember is
there is no discounting so it’s not about
the ‘tight arse Tuesday’ type client.
While you only pay for the clients you
get in the chair, there are still other
things that can be negotiated with them.
Ten years ago there has still a lot of
salons using pencil and paper, so I dare
say how clients are going to want to book
into salons in ten years time hasn’t really
been though of yet,” Gary said.
One thing we can’t mess with is
progress, good or bad and the important
thing is, ‘are you getting on board with
new ideas and at least trying them out
for yourself?’As I filed this story for print,
I thought about all of our other mediums
and how they work together – you
can’t just rely on a presence in one area
without maximizing it elsewhere. As
someone who has never booked a salon
appointment online myself, (I’m the guy
who always does all that admin stuff
when I’m driving) it may not be as much
of an issue right now but we must be
mindful that for some people it’s about
saving time even though for me my
opinion would be – ‘who’s got time for
that when I can just press one button on
my car steering wheel’, but moreso for
the future, convenience for every type of
customer is king and some customers like
no contact and to book online at all hours
of the night.
Just look at food delivery businesses and
booking sites like Foodora and deliveroo
and how they’ve taken off in recent
months and you may better understand
just how tapped into convenience
customers really are.
Before I logged out of this story I googled
‘online salon booking’. A host of links
came up including ‘Top ten salons – book
now’, ‘online salon booking software’,
‘online salon and spa management’.
Anyway, I think it’s time to give your
salon a true online booking portal with
a partner that’s really going to work for
you. Don’t forget about your existing salon
software programs also – it might just be
that you’re not using it to it’s full potential.
