outgrown the heritage listed T&G building that it has
called home for so long and embarked upon its first move

take on their existing aesthetic that still retains the
warmth of their previous establishment. is is delivered
in the décor, which includes natural and 'lived-in'
design elements. e walls are built in recycled brick
that was taken from a formerly graffiti-laden warehouse
in Melbourne. In salon, the bricks are flipped so that the
street art adds a clever pop of colour.
e salon is also made up of distressed concrete rendered
walls, Victorian ash wood, a high black industrial ceiling
and copper handmade pendants from Amsterdam that,
with the help of the salons' mirrors, become a highly-
visible salon highlight. Retro 1942 signage from the salon's
first days help the journey come full circle.

to the hair industry -- philanthropy and fashion, by supporting the
fundraising fashion event StyleAid. Now in its 17th year, the Perth
show presents local and international designers to provide funds and
awareness for the WA AIDS Council.
With an artistic, playful energy to the whole event, the theme of
this year's show was 60s style Pop Art. Hair direction by Sue Morgan
of Be Ba Bo salon was fittingly modish, with the retro looks comprised
of beehives, cropped cuts, sleek straight styles and interesting up
styles. Sue led over 100 hairdressers, including styling legend Benni
Tognini, in the completion of the mammoth backstage task.
"It was so great to be a part of this event. From creating the look for
the theme GOGO, to styling the photoshoot and finally the show itself,
it has been a wonderful experience," Sue said.
